Dr. Jörg von Wegerer

Jörg von Wegerer is a neurobiologist. He obtained his Doctorate in biology in 1996 from the University of Freiburg.

In his PhD thesis he investigated the effects of antiepileptic drugs and their applicability in psychiatric disorders with electrophysiological methods.

During the ensuing postdoc and university assistant time at the Pharmacological Institute of the University of Erlangen and the Physiological Institute of the University of Bonn Dr. von Wegerer performed broad patch clamp studies on the characterization of spinal glycine receptors in natural and genetically induced mouse mutants.

During several years Dr. von Wegerer independently held practical courses, seminars and lectures in physiology.

Moreover, Dr. von Wegerer has experiences in project management in the pharmaceutical industry.

His scientific expertise focuses on neurobiology, electrophysiology, human physiology, biophysics, pharmacology and galenics.

Dr. von Wegerer speaks German, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian fluently and has good knowledge of Russian, Czech, Polish and Bulgarian.
