
Dr. Michael Hong is a biologist and obtained his diploma from Hamburg University. During his diploma thesis at the Institute of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology in Hamburg he investigated the regulation of signaltransduction mechanisms in leukemic cells in connection with cell proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis.
For his doctoral thesis Dr. Hong worked at Beiersdorf AG in the department Skin Research – Ethnic Skin/Sun Care. His thesis in particular addressed the research on the molecular mechanisms for skin tanning and whitening and it´s regulation in human skin.
Dr. Hong has extensive knowledge in molecular biological techniques, as well as experience with primary cell cultures and 3-dimensional ex vivo models. During his doctoral thesis he was also responsible for the planning and conduction of proband studies in a non-clinical setting.
Dr. Hong is a specialist for life sciences and works on patent applications in the area of biology, biotechnology and biochemistry, gives expert’s reports, conducts patent granting procedures, works on trademark and design patent applications and designs opposition briefs and license agreements.
Dr. Hong speaks German, English and Korean fluently.
